INTRODUCING ROB HURD

BIO

At age 18 I trained as a recording sound engineer. Since then I have been in bands, helped to write numerous original songs, toured around the world, performing live onstage audiences numbering in the thousands. I am also an accomplished electronic music producer in my own right, releasing music as Speck Of Dust.

Last year I created and recorded electronic 31 drone/soundscape parts for the The Curse of the Vampire Orchestra for their stunning audio visual rendition of the 1922 silent film Nosferatu. This show has been performed in the USA and in Poland.
 

My philosophy is to embrace the imperfections in music making - the human side of sound recording. I love using analog electronic musical instruments. They can be unpredictable and can be easily programmed to produce other-worldly timbres which constantly evolve.
